The NBA 2K26 Season 8 release date is locked in for Friday, June 26 at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET. And this time around, the developers are leaning hard into the Knicks championship glow — a Locker Code for Finals MVP Jalen Brunson just dropped, giving players a shot at Invincible cards to complete that title-winning New York squad.
The promo tweet from NBA 2K’s official account had that celebratory energy you’d expect. A parade in NYC. A goat emoji. Brunson’s code: BRUNSON-FINALS-MVP. It’s a nice touch for fans who watched the Knicks run through the playoffs and want to relive it in-game.
When Season 8 Goes Live
June 26 at 11 AM Eastern. That’s when the servers flip and the new season pass opens up. As usual, 80 free rewards are on tap across both MyCAREER and MyTEAM. You don’t have to grind both modes either — if you’re a MyCAREER person, you can earn MyTEAM rewards just by playing your preferred mode. The paid Pro Pass also returns, offering bonus rewards for anyone willing to shell out.
Patch Notes Are Still Under Wraps
As of now, 2K hasn’t posted any patch notes for Season 8. That’s pretty standard. They usually drop them a few days before the season launches, so expect them around midweek. We’ll update when they land.
What Else Is Coming
The W mode should get new Seasonal and Weekly Challenges. Community Builds might return too, and there could be some MyTEAM mobile updates. The Courtside Report for Season 8 should surface any day now, which is where we’ll likely see the season’s cover athlete and full details on new content.
If you’re sitting on locker codes you haven’t redeemed yet, now’s a good time to cash them in. Also, last week’s NBA 2KTV episode still has free VC up for grabs if you missed it.
We’ll have more once the patch notes drop and the season goes live.
