Man United Eyes £140M Double Deal That Includes Former Leeds Star Summerville

Crysencio Summerville might be back in the transfer conversation. And this time, the price tag looks a lot bigger than what he cost West Ham two years ago.

Manchester United is weighing up a double move that could hit £140 million, according to reports. The targets? Summerville and his West Ham teammate Mateus Fernandes. The club wants reinforcements out wide and in central midfield, especially if Marcus Rashford ends up leaving Old Trafford this summer.

From Leeds to London and Maybe to Manchester

Summerville left Leeds United in 2024 after his release clause — around £28 million — got triggered by West Ham. That came after an absolute monster of a Championship season where he put up 21 goals and 10 assists and basically scooped up every individual award in sight. Leeds lost the play-off final to Southampton and stayed in the second tier. So Summerville did what Archie Gray and Georginio Rutter did: he moved on.

His first year and a half at West Ham was a struggle. But something clicked early in 2026. He scored six goals in seven games and helped drag the Hammers toward survival. They beat Leeds 3-0 on the final day but Tottenham’s win over Everton sent West Ham down anyway. Now a bunch of their key players are expected to leave.

The Price and the World Cup Factor

United wants that overall number to come down. But West Ham knows they’re sitting on profit. The Athletic says the club values Summerville around £50 million. He finished last season with five goals and two assists in the Premier League. Not spectacular numbers, but the late burst changed how people see him.

His World Cup also started well. Summerville curled one in on his tournament debut in a 2-2 draw against Japan. That kind of moment tends to drive the price up. A few more of those in the coming weeks and United might have to pay whatever West Ham asks.

For now, it’s a story of timing. Rashford’s situation creates the opening. Summerville’s form creates the opportunity. The rest is just numbers and negotiation.
