Real Madrid’s Next XI Could Feature Four New Faces — Here’s How It Lines Up

Real Madrid kicked off their summer transfer business Monday with a surprise move, signing left-back Marc Cucurella from Chelsea. The deal, confirmed by the club this morning, is just the appetizer for what’s shaping up to be one of the most aggressive windows in recent memory for the Spanish giants.

According to reports from Fabrizio Romano and Sky Sports, Madrid is also closing in on deals for Liverpool center-back Ibrahima Konaté, Inter Milan wing-back Denzel Dumfries, and Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva. If all four arrive, the roster would undergo a major overhaul — and we decided to see what that actually looks like on the field.

The Projected Starting XI

In goal, Thibaut Courtois remains the undisputed starter. The back line would feature Cucurella on the left, Konaté alongside Éder Militão in central defense, and either Dani Carvajal or Dumfries on the right. In midfield, Silva would join Eduardo Camavinga and Jude Bellingham — a trio built on technical control and vertical passing. Up top, Vinícius Jr., Rodrygo, and Kylian Mbappé would lead the attack.

It’s aggressive. It’s young. And it’s the kind of lineup that makes you wonder what system Carlo Ancelotti would even run. A 4-3-3 seems most natural, though the versatility of Bellingham and Silva could allow for a diamond or even a 4-2-3-1 with Mbappé as the central striker.

Not Set in Stone

Of course, this is still speculation. The club has not confirmed any of the additional signings beyond Cucurella. There’s also chatter that Trent Alexander-Arnold could emerge as an alternative to Dumfries, and that young defender Dean Huijsen might replace Antonio Rüdiger rather than Konaté being the only center-back addition. Nothing is locked in until the ink is dry.

Still, the direction is clear. Madrid is prioritizing athleticism, technical quality, and long-term upside. The Cucurella signing alone signals that the club sees value in versatile, modern fullbacks who can invert or overlap. Konaté would bring Premier League physicality to a back line that occasionally looked exposed in transition last season. Silva would give Madrid a seasoned press-resister who can play multiple midfield roles — exactly the kind of player that helps young stars like Bellingham and Camavinga thrive.

Fans online have already started debating how the pieces fit. Some argue that a midfield of Silva, Camavinga, and Bellingham lacks a pure defensive anchor, while others point out that Ancelotti rarely uses one anyway. The bigger question might be whether this lineup can coexist without a natural No. 9 — though Mbappé’s flexibility makes that less of a concern.

What’s your take? Would you run a 4-3-3, a 4-2-3-1, or something else entirely? Drop your thoughts below.
