Knicks WAGs Are Carrying These Lucky Items Into Game 5 — and One Sparked a 29-Point Comeback

Ali Brunson and Shannon Hart have been on a wild ride this postseason, and they’re not leaving anything to chance. As the New York Knicks prepare for Game 5 of the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs tonight, the wives of Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart are sharing the rituals and talismans they believe have fueled the team’s improbable run.

Forget the pregame shootaround or the coach’s whiteboard — the real superstitions are happening courtside, in the stands, and even in a purse. Shannon Hart, who watched her husband Josh help engineer a historic 29-point comeback in Game 4, is bringing the same lucky bag to San Antonio. “Obviously, bringing it to San Antonio again, just to run it back,” she told ClutchPoints in an exclusive interview via her partnership with Reese’s Oreo.

That bag isn’t the only piece of the puzzle. Ali Brunson, meanwhile, has kept her jewelry game locked in all postseason. “My wedding ring, wedding watch, wedding bracelet to bring all the positive energy into the arena,” she said. For Ali, consistency is key — and that means the same pieces every night, no deviations.

Shannon also revealed that she never leaves for a game without her cross necklace, a piece that holds personal and spiritual weight. “Josh is obviously super religious. I’ve gotten a lot more religious in the last year or so. So, definitely this cross necklace,” she said. That necklace is paired with a pregame ritual she doesn’t skip: a prayer during the national anthem. “For just, like, the health of the arena, the guys, Josh, our family. So, I think that’s, like, my go-to ritual.”

The two wives have also teamed up with Reese’s Oreo — both brands share the Knicks’ iconic orange-and-blue color scheme — to lean into the postseason energy. The snack partnership, Shannon explained, felt natural. “Me and Ali, obviously, we’re friends, so there’s a duo and then we just thought it would be really cool to match the Reese’s and Oreos that are orange and blue.” Ali agreed, calling the color combo “iconic.”

The Knicks are one win away from the franchise’s first championship in over 50 years, and Game 5 tips off at 8:30 p.m. ET at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio. Whether it’s the jewelry, the necklace, the purse, or the praying, Ali and Shannon are bringing everything they’ve got — because in the Finals, every little edge matters.
