Bam Adebayo Allegedly Hit Tyler Herro After a Social Media Comment. Then Herro Said ‘It’s All Love.’

Tyler Herro is no longer a Miami Heat player. He was part of the package that landed Giannis Antetokounmpo in a blockbuster trade with the Milwaukee Bucks. And the way things reportedly went down Friday morning, it’s safe to say he’s not leaving on the friendliest terms.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Herro and now-former teammate Bam Adebayo got into a physical altercation after a practice session at a Las Vegas hotel. The reported trigger? Adebayo took issue with social media comments Herro made on a secondary Instagram account, critiquing the Heat star after the trade was announced. Charania reported that Adebayo “struck Herro in the face area” as the two were walking off the court.

The Heat have acknowledged they’re aware of the incident but declined to comment publicly. No official statement, no confirmation of discipline. Just silence.

Which makes what happened later that day feel almost surreal.

Herro was playing in Miami’s Summer League game against the Bucks. He was on the court alongside Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kel’el Ware, and Kasparas Jakucionis — the same young core that essentially got shipped out for Antetokounmpo. During a sideline interview with Chris Haynes, Herro was all smiles.

“It’s all love in Miami,” Herro said. “I’ve seen a couple of the guys, coaching staff, Chris Quinn, Spo [Erik Spoelstra]. We’re all good in Miami. An opportunity for both sides to reset and get a fresh start. We’re both super happy for this.”

The clip landed online, and fans immediately connected the dots. The interview happened after the reported fight. Herro was saying everything was fine while allegedly getting into it with a teammate hours before.

When asked directly about the altercation, Herro was far less chatty. Per Anthony Chiang of The Miami Herald, his only response was: “My only comment is no comment.”

For a lot of Heat fans, this stings. Herro and Adebayo had been teammates for years. They grew up together in the league, won big games together, and generally seemed to have a solid relationship. Or at least one that didn’t involve physical confrontation at a hotel in Vegas.

The irony of Herro’s “all love” interview is hard to miss. But it’s also the kind of thing that happens when a trade goes through and emotions are raw. Players get traded. Feelings get hurt. Sometimes people say things online that don’t sit well with the guys left behind.

Neither side has offered much in the way of follow-up. Herro is headed to Milwaukee. Adebayo stays in Miami. The Summer League game went on. And the only thing anyone really knows for sure is that this relationship didn’t end quietly.
