Two Premier League clubs are circling a French teenager who scored against PSG

Manchester United and Crystal Palace both want Toulouse’s Alexis Vossah. That much is clear. The 18-year-old midfielder broke into Ligue 1 last season and made 23 appearances, which is a lot for a teenager at that level. He even scored against Paris Saint-Germain, which tends to make people pay attention.

Vossah is primarily a defensive midfielder but can also play center back. Scouts like his vision, his composure on the ball, and the fact that he can shoot cleanly with either foot. He’s a France Under-19 international with Togolese heritage, and he’s already on Chelsea’s radar too. The Blues tried to sign him last summer for around €8 million but got turned down.

Now, according to Fussball Europa, United and Palace are the ones making calls. Neither has submitted a formal offer yet, but both clubs have contacted Vossah’s representatives. Toulouse isn’t eager to sell. They have him under contract until 2028, which puts them in a strong position. They want roughly €25 million to let him go.

Why Palace might have the edge

Crystal Palace already did business with Toulouse recently. They signed defender Jaydee Canvot from the French club, and that deal went smoothly. Those relationships matter. Palace also has an eye on another Toulouse prospect named Charlie Cresswell. So they’re familiar with the market there.

For United, Vossah fits their current approach under Michael Carrick. The club has been targeting young players with upside rather than established stars. Vossah would be a long-term piece, not a quick fix for the midfield. Carrick’s rebuild is still in progress, and adding a player like this fits the timeline.

Chelsea is still lurking

Don’t rule out Chelsea entirely. They liked Vossah last year and have kept tabs on him. But so far this summer, United and Palace appear to be the ones pushing hardest. That could change if a bidding war starts or if Chelsea decides to revisit the deal.

Toulouse doesn’t need to sell, and they’ve protected their asset with that 2028 contract. That means any club that wants Vossah will have to pay close to the asking price. Negotiations are likely to stretch out over the next few weeks. No offers are on the table yet, but the race for one of France’s more intriguing young midfielders is officially underway.
