Alfie Haaland Just Said What Everyone Thinks About Real Madrid and His Son’s Future

Erling Haaland’s dad just lit the fuse on another round of transfer rumors. And honestly, he didn’t even try to dodge the question.

Alfie Haaland sat down with DAZN ES ahead of Norway’s World Cup knockout games, and when the subject of Real Madrid came up, he didn’t shut it down. He didn’t even really hedge. He just told the truth as he sees it.

“He’s very happy at Manchester City and has a long contract. We’re waiting for the new season… but ANYONE would want to play for Madrid,” Alfie said, per Fabrizio Romano’s report. Then he added the classic football caveat: “You never know what can happen in football.”

That’s not exactly a denial. It’s more of an open door with a welcome mat.

The Madrid Factor Never Dies

Look, nobody is saying Erling Haaland is packing his bags tomorrow. He’s under contract at City through what feels like the next ice age. But the pull of Real Madrid is real, and Alfie basically admitted what every agent and player already knows: playing at the Bernabéu is a different kind of gravity.

If the Spanish giants ever decide to make a serious run at him, you’re looking at Haaland lining up next to Kylian Mbappé. That’s not just a good attack. That’s a video game cheat code.

For now though, none of that matters. Because Haaland is doing what he does best on the biggest stage.

Norway’s Hero Is Carrying a Nation

Haaland just dragged Norway into the World Cup quarterfinals for the first time ever. He scored a second-half brace against Brazil to knock the five-time champions out 2-1. Brazil. In a knockout game. Alone.

The first goal was pure power — he rose over Gabriel Magalhães to meet a cross from Antonio Schjelderup and hammered it past Alisson. The second was all precision — a low rocket from outside the box that left the Brazil keeper with no chance.

With those two goals, Haaland is now tied with Lionel Messi and Mbappé for the tournament lead at seven goals. He also extended his insane international scoring streak to 14 straight games with a goal. His total for Norway now sits at 62 goals in 54 caps. That’s not normal.

So yeah, the transfer talk will keep swirling. But right now, Haaland is busy rewriting Norwegian history one game at a time. Madrid can wait.
