Jaylen Brown Goes Live After Celtics Trade and His Reaction Says It All

Jaylen Brown didn’t wait long to address the trade that sent him to Philadelphia. And he didn’t sugarcoat it either.

The Celtics wing went live on Twitch Thursday, and within seconds of starting the stream, he let his chat know exactly how he felt about Boston shipping him out. Brown’s tone wasn’t angry, exactly, but it wasn’t exactly warm either.

“Chat. Chat, we back in the building. Y’all know what it is. The energy’s shifted back. Live on the stream. Chat, we got a lot to talk about. First, Boston, they packed me up,” Brown said. “Boston, done packed me up, my boy. God. Outta there.”

He repeated it for emphasis, almost like he was still processing it: “Boston done packed me up… Outta there.”

The 29-year-old didn’t go into detail about the deal itself — the Celtics reportedly sent Brown to the 76ers for Paul George and future draft picks — but his body language and delivery made it pretty clear he wasn’t thrilled with how things went down. He looked annoyed. The kind of annoyed that doesn’t need a lot of explanation.

Fans online were quick to pick up on the vibe. Some thought he sounded hurt, others thought he sounded relieved. Either way, the clip spread fast. ClutchPoints posted the video on Twitter and it racked up views almost immediately.

There’s still a lot of moving parts here. The Celtics front office has been taking heat from fans and media alike for trading Brown, especially after the team’s recent playoff run. Brown has been a core piece in Boston for years, so moving him for George — who’s older and carries his own injury history — feels like a gamble. The draft compensation sweetens things a little, but it doesn’t make the optics any cleaner.

Brown is headed to a Sixers team that’s already built around Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. If he clicks there, Boston’s decision is going to age badly fast. If he doesn’t, well, the Celtics can point to the picks and say they saw the writing on the wall.

But for now, Brown is just a guy who got traded and found out the same way everyone else did — and he made sure to let the world know how he felt about it.

This story is still developing. More details on the trade and Brown’s reaction are expected to come out in the next few days.
