Rio Ferdinand Pleads With Tchouameni on Live TV: ‘Only One Club for You, Man’

Rio Ferdinand has publicly begged Aurelien Tchouameni to pick Manchester United, claiming he’s had private conversations with the Real Madrid midfielder and knows the guy watches his show. The former United defender didn’t just suggest a transfer. He looked straight into the camera and made an appeal.

“If you’re looking to leave Real Madrid, we are the club,” Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel. “Make the call.”

This all started because United is trying to replace Casemiro. They already agreed on a $44 million deal for Atalanta’s Ederson. They’re fighting Tottenham for West Ham’s Mateus Fernandes. But the dream target, according to transfer guy Fabrizio Romano, has always been Tchouameni.

Why This Deal Keeps Hitting Roadblocks

Romano laid it out simply. Real Madrid hasn’t opened the door for Tchouameni to leave. And even if they did, his salary at Madrid is massive. United isn’t sure they want to match it. That’s the reality, not a rumor.

Still, the French midfielder reportedly had a dustup with teammate Federico Valverde at the end of last season. That kind of tension makes people wonder. And with Kylian Mbappe reportedly telling Tchouameni to stay put, the drama has layers.

Spanish reports this week say Tchouameni told Mbappe he has a very attractive offer from United. Mbappe wants him to stay. But Tchouameni apparently isn’t ruling anything out and is considering a move to the Premier League.

Ferdinand Made It Personal

Ferdinand didn’t hold back. He said if Tchouameni even gets a whiff of leaving Madrid, United has to be the first team at the door. “Get him signed, sealed, delivered,” he said. “I know we’ve had a few conversations in private. But man, I know you watch the show.”

He looked right down the camera lens and told the guy there’s only one club for him. That’s a bold move for a former player who now runs a YouTube channel. But Ferdinand clearly thinks United can’t afford to miss on this one.

United has already been linked with a $90 million price tag for Tchouameni, which is what Madrid would likely demand. The question is whether the club will actually pay it — or if Ferdinand’s plea ends up as just another YouTube moment.
