CJ Gardner-Johnson Says Josh Allen Gives Him a ‘Fighting Chance’ for Two Super Bowls in Three Years

CJ Gardner-Johnson has never been short on confidence. And now that he’s in Buffalo, he’s making sure everyone knows exactly what he expects.

The safety signed a one-year, $6 million deal with the Bills this offseason after winning Super Bowl LIX with the Eagles in 2025. He didn’t waste any time setting the bar high for his new team.

“I’m going to win the next two out of three Super Bowls,” Gardner-Johnson told Tim Graham of The Athletic. “How? Look where they placed me at. Look who’s my quarterback. If I got a f*****g fighting chance, it’s over with.”

That quarterback is Josh Allen, who just happens to be one of the most physically gifted players in the league. Allen has led Buffalo to the playoffs every year since 2019, but the Bills have never made it past the AFC Championship Game. Getting over that hump has been the franchise’s biggest challenge.

Gardner-Johnson thinks he can help change that. He’s played 87 career games with 71 starts, racking up 370 tackles, 55 passes defended, and 20 interceptions. Last season he split time between Chicago and Houston, putting up 66 tackles, three sacks, four pass breakups, and two picks.

The 28-year-old also had a humble moment mixed in with the bravado. “It’s humbling. I’ve got to be humble,” he said. “I’ve got to be grateful because you don’t know, but s**t can change! You’ve got to look at how they did the offseason here. Everybody got a nice little deal except me. That’s not a shot at the organization. That’s more so offering me a chance to get what them guys got.”

Buffalo has been aggressive in building around Allen. They’ve added pass catchers, shored up the offensive line, and brought in defensive pieces. Gardner-Johnson fits into a secondary that already features Tre’Davious White and Jordan Poyer, assuming Poyer stays healthy.

The Bills will open the 2026 season as one of the favorites to win it all. Gardner-Johnson knows what a championship run looks like. He was on the Eagles team that dismantled the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, and he’s been around long enough to understand that talent alone doesn’t get it done. But he sees something in Buffalo that makes him believe.

Whether that belief turns into a parade down Main Street is anyone’s guess. But Gardner-Johnson is betting on himself and Allen to make it happen.
